 The Story of the City of Rennes on CD
"From Condate to Rennes, 2,000 years of the City’s history": where did the Vilaine River run in the 19th century? What was the city like before the 1720 fire? What was Rennes’ population in the 12th century? IVT produced this CD-ROM with design help from top historians and 3D virtual images. It tells the story of the city through its buildings, well-known figures, reference texts, and historical overviews. IVT specializes in designing and selling display systems and manufacturing 3D geographic databases. The company has already designed products for several tens of websites (Paris, Brussels, Strasbourg, Antibes, Bell-Ile en mer, and more). Hypnotizer has just launched its streamed publishing, server and reader applications with active graphic interfaces. Hypnotizer is offering a highly original technology for overlaying web interface (banners, buttons, menus, and so on) on the video window. This Windows media, Real Network and QuickTime compatible software solution makes it possible to navigate and click on video broadcast on the Internet. The Hypnotizer publisher can be downloaded on the company’s website free of charge, for a period of twenty days. The server can receive, process, store and disseminate contents. J.-G. Affholder, geographic engineer at the IGN (Institut Géographique National, the French national geographic institute), has determined the geographic center of the twelve countries using the euro currency. The center is in Montreuillon, Nièvre department, located in the Château-Chinon district, 50 kilometers east of Nevers, in the Morvan Regional Nature Reserve. Before Greece joined the euro zone, the town of Blancafort in the Cher department (18) was the center of the zone.
